3 de Valandraud is the third wine of Chateau Valandraud, the famous Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classe estate founded by Jean-Luc Thunevin, pioneer of the garage wine movement. A Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate’s clay-limestone slopes at Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse. 2016 was an outstanding Bordeaux vintage, giving a medium-bodied, concentrated yet approachable red with a nice oaky character and notes of vanilla and cherry. The perfect partner for a juicy steak.
